Forearm Forklift - Does what it says it will!

Forearm Forklift

The Forearm Forklift is a pair of webbing straps designed to make lifting and moving furniture and appliances easier. Forearm Forklift Straps are adjustable to suit various types of appliances and small enough to fit into a pocket, glove compartment or toolbox . Our test sample was supplied by Lifting Made Simple who are a major U.K., importer of the Forearm Forklift system.

What the Manufacturer Says

The Forearm Forklift® uses simple mechanical advantage to enable average strength people to easily move heavy objects (up to 600 lbs / 270kg). The straps allow an object to be lifted using little effort, keeping the centre of gravity low for improved stability, and keeps the hands free for control. The Forearm Forklift® does this with it’s simple, adjustable and strong design

What our Reviewer Says

This really is a product that does exactly what it says, we liked this a lot.

The testing took place over a two week period initially and gave us plenty of opportunity to put the manufacturers’ claims to the test.

Job number one found us on a new build site where we needed to move a double condensing unit across some rough ground, about 50 metres. The Customers forklift was not able to get to the installation site due to a raised kerb which retained a new service road, so out with the Forearm Forklift and very soon we were in position.

The key to using this product is to follow the instructions carefully. It’s important that you position the straps correctly and even more important that you lift from your knees rather than using your back to do the work. That said, the straps make it very natural to lift using the correct technique. Once the equipment is in the air, it’s really easy to guide it and the position means that you are not likely to get your fingers caught in doorways etc.

Over the next couple of weeks we used the Forearm Forklift Straps on a daily basis (in fact we are still using them, so sorry, their not coming back). One really good feature is the ability to move up and down stairs with heavy equipment. The straps automatically adjust the centre of balance, keeping the equipment stable.

We liked the straps and found them really useful, in fact we’ve ordered a couple more pairs for our other teams.

Great product that really makes life easy. We used it to carry 6 Cellar Coolers and condensing units from the Car Park to site, including taking the evaporators down into the Cellar. The problem was not the weight in this cae but the awkwardness of the equipment, so this really was a bonus. Highly recommended especially at the price.
